Livability.com a website dedicated to America’s best places to live rated Eugene, Oregon as the 9th best downtown in the Nation. “Cool and Green” is how they summed up the city,  making note of the rich creativity and culture. The highlights mentioned were the Eugene Gallery District, the Hult Center for the Performing Arts, McDonald Theatre, the WOW Hall, upscale eateries, Lucky’s Bar, and the beautiful Alton Baker Park.

 

Downtown Eugene

From Skinner’s Butte Park, you can look out and see downtown Eugene, Oregon surrounded by foothills and evergreens. Skinner Butte is great for hiking, picnics, sight seeing or just throwing a frisbee around. The Willamette River flows on the north side of the park providing a perfect atmosphere for relaxation.

 

Hult Center for the Performing Arts

 The Hult Center for The Performing Arts is one of the top venues in Eugene, Oregon. In addition to putting on great shows, the Hult Center has an art museum and is next door to the Eugene Hilton. You can book tickets online or at the box office.

 The McDonal Theatre host a variety of shows and the unique older theatre has a rich sense of character. Conveniently located on 10th and Willamette St.

Eugene is well know for it’s arts and rich culture and downtown is no exception. Walking around you will notice various art pieces around nearly ever corner. You can’t say Oregonians aren’t creative.

It wouldn’t be a trip to downtown Eugene without seeing the Oregon ducks. They sure are friendly but please don’t feed them.
