Exploring Crater Lake National Park

Crater Lake is located in the Umpqua National Forest, 84 miles Northeast of Medford, Oregon. Crater Lake offers majestic views, over 90 miles of hiking trails, picnic areas, a visitor center, lodging and more. In the winter, Crater Lake offers cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing.

Crater Lake National Park

Wizard Island, Crater Lake - Lookouts along Crater Lake provide breathtaking views of the lake. Wizard Island is a volcanic cinder cone which reaches over 750 feet above the surface of the lake. In the summer boat tours are available to the island providing a unique hiking experience.

Crater Lake East Rim Drive

East Rim Drive - In late spring or early summery, the East Rim Drive opens up providing access to turnouts, picnic areas, two waterfalls, the pinnacles, and plenty of hiking trails.

Picnic Table At Crater Lake

Picnic Table at Crater Lake - In the summer Crater Lake provides the perfect place for a picnic. Picnic tables can be found in nearly every corner or turnout along the rim drive. Pick of a visitor guide when entering the park for locations.

The Pinnacles at Crater Lake

The Pinnacles are a unique geological feature that can be found on the east side of the lake. From east rim drive take Pinnacles Rd about four miles to a beautiful lookout. A short hike  is available taking you along the canyon rim for an even better view of the Pinnacles.

Plaikni Falls

Plaikni Falls Trail is a perfect hike for those looking to get out in nature a visit the beautiful Plaikni Falls. The 2.5 mile trail is well developed and great for all ages.

View South of Crater Lake

The view south of Crater Lake - Crater lake isn’t the only breathtaking view in the National Park. Crater Lake offers beautiful views around every turn of the rim drive.

Crater Lake Visitor Center

Crater Lake Visitor Center - Spend some time at the Crater Lake Visitor Center and learn about how this beautiful natural attraction was formed. Rangers, exhibits and a spectacular lookout make this area a must stop on your journey around Crater Lake National Park.
